Have you attended or reviewed the awards at the Silver Springs show or some of the National or Regional Mustang Shows this year and noticed a new class? Perhaps you looked at the Mustang & Fords or Mustang Monthly websites or magazines and wondered what is the "YO" Young Owner's Club? The Mustang Club of America announced a new Youth Group with a Young Owners Club for 16-25 year olds with valid driver's licenses and a Future Mustang Owner's Club for those enthusiasts 15 and younger.
The MFMC has started a Young Owners Club and is now carefully considering expanding our activities to include a Future Mustang Owners Club. While some mustang clubs around the country have already started one or both of the Youth Clubs, the activities and structure vary greatly so we have the opportunity to design our own Central Florida versions.
We want to hear from you if you or someone you know may be interested in participating in either group, and from those of you that may be interested in helping to organize or facilitate a Future Owners Club getting off to a True Muscle start. Please contact Lori Stanich by email at lstanich@embarqmail.com if you are interested or have any additional questions.
Spring 2009 - MFMC Announces the New Mid-Florida Mustang Young Owners Club
What is the Young Owners Club?
The Young Owners Club is a club designed for Mustang enthusiasts from the ages of sixteen to twenty-five. The club exist solely for the purpose of taking the youthful energy they have and turning into fun, responsible activities.
Early in 2008 MCA announced the formation of a Young Owners club. Since that time, the MFMC has been working to form such a club here in Central Florida. The Young Owners are all members of MFMC, but they are also members of the Young Owners Group just for the asking. They will continue to participate in MFMC activities, and they will have a few others as well. Come to MFMC meetings, or watch the message board, website, and e-Pony Express Grams for more details as the group organizes additional meet ups and activities. If you are in the 16-25 age group or know a Mustang Enthusiast that is and would be interested in joining the Young Owners, please contact Lori Stanich at lstanich@embarqmail.com or by phone at 407.230.5362 or post your interest in the new Young Owners section of the MFMC Message Board. Joining is the only way to ensure you will receive all Young Owners Club information so don't delay! The Young Owners have some fun ideas and some true Mustang Enthusiasm!
The Young Owners Club is the embodiment of only being young once and taking advantage of it. If you are between 16 & 25, join the movement and see for yourself!
More YO Club Info
June 7th, 2009 – the first official meeting of the Young Owner’s Club was held at Ker’s Wing House – Altamonte Springs. We would like to have members submit graphics for suggested logos. We will be putting together flyers and information to be included in MFMC newsletters and e-Pony Express emails. We have added a YO forum to the MFMC Message Board. “Official” meetings will be held after the MFMC General Meeting at IHOP, more informal meet-ups will be planned as needed. We have requested a special YO class at MFMC car shows, Jim & Tony are checking with the MFMC board and show committees. Jay is looking into track nights, Ryan is checking into paintball, and Danny & Kristen will help with flyers. Tricia will be taking some pictures at upcoming events. Everyone should submit suggestions for activities for the YO.
YO will be meeting in mid-July to work on the Brother’s Performance Car show – make sure your email is on the notification list by contacting Lori Stanich at lstanich@embarqmail.com.
Your car does not have to be show quality to join the club – you just need to be a Mustang Enthusiast!
MFMC & The MFMC Young Owners to Host Car Show
Have you noticed a very large new building near SR44 and I4? Have you heard of BBK or Brothers Performance? Brothers Performance's new 64,000 sq feet facility and 8,000 sq foot showroom is celebrating its Grand Opening on August 1st, 2009. The MFMC together with our new Young Owners Club have been chosen to host the Grand Opening Car Show there that same day from 10am to 4pm with registration at 9am. There should be a great turnout with many Mustangs participating. There is limited paved parking so make sure to pre-register early for this free event for a chance at paved parking.
There will be a Dyno Shoot Out Competition with trophies and cash prize giveaways. There will also be trophies, refreshments, vendors, tours of the facility, and some other really awesome giveaways from BBK and others. A live DJ and magazines such as 5.0 Magazine will be there too. This is one show you will not want to miss and it is free!
Many, many cars are expected and we really want to welcome Brothers Performance to the area and show them how great the MId-Florida Mustang Club is! We need your help!
Volunteers are needed to help with:
Registration - getting people signed in for the show, we need help from about 8:30-10:30, we would love to have help for 1 or 2 hour shifts.
Parking - we are certainly going to need help directing incoming cars to park registered cars on the paved lot and those that register late to park on the field and making sure everyone parks safely.
Vote Counting - this is a popular vote show and that means we need some MFMC members that can help count votes to determine the trophy winners.
Working at the Club Tent - we need several people to take turns working the club tent answering questions about the show, the MFMC, membership, and other MFMC events.
Experience is not required! We will train you!
If you are able to help with the show, please contact Odus Radford 386.789.1800 or email or Lori Stanich by email or phone 407.230.5362.
For more information or to register, see the flyer on the MFMC message board or on our website at: http://www.midfloridamustangclub.com/shows/2009/brothersperf080109pdf.
Hope to see you at Brothers Performance on August 1st!
