Welcome to the Mid-Florida Mustang Club!

Founded in 1981, the Mid-Florida Mustang Club “MFMC” is officially recognized as the regional chapter of the Mustang Club of American “MCA” in the Greater Orlando - Central Florida area. The MFMC is a family friendly club of Mustang enthusiasts dedicated to preservation of all Mustangs, both classics and late models. We do not require that your car be “done” or even that members own one at this time, only that you are a Mustang/Ford enthusiast. After all, are we ever done with our cars?

Throughout the year we look for ways to get out and enjoy our cars, meet other Mustang enthusiasts, check out the cars of others, and get some ideas for our own cars. Every time members of the club get together, it is like “how-to” books and forums coming alive only better as we have the opportunity to see the cars, meet the people, and form new friendships. It is amazing the feeling that comes from the look out the windshield and at the rearview mirror when you see Mustangs of all colors, years, and models! It is made even more special when you realize that so many Mustangs are driven by your friends!

You know you have found the right meeting location when you pull in and see a parking lot full of Mustangs. You begin to recognize the cars, the people, and the sense of fellowship of being with others that enjoy Mustangs as you do. Whether you just purchased a Mustang that you enjoy driving or you have had one since the day you turned 16, we offer something for you. Maybe your car is straight stock and you just enjoy driving it to the store, or maybe your car is supercharged, or has flames, we have something for you. In the MFMC you will find others on this broad spectrum of Mustang Enthusiasts, and in no time you will feel right at home.

A General Meeting is held for members at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month, except December. Check our home page for the location. At the general meeting we discuss the business of the club, announce items of interest to the membership, and take advantage of an opportunity to socialize and talk about anything in general, and Mustangs in particular. We usually have a guest speaker who addresses a subject associated with car care and restoration. Many of us arrive early to have dinner together and visit a little before the meeting. Even though we meet at a restaurant, you are not required to eat or order anything. The meeting itself is 1-½ hours, socializing usually continues out in the parking lot.

The Board of Director’s meeting is a straightforward business meeting where we plan future events, track current events, and take care of the financial aspects of the club. (We are a non-profit organization but we do have expenses). This meeting is open to ALL MFMC members. T he Board of Director’s meeting is held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Don Reid Ford in Maitland.

The MFMC hosts to cruise-ins which are open to the public. The time and location of each cruise-in is listed on our home page. The general meetings and cruise-ins are great places to sign-up to be a member, show off your Mustang, see others’ Mustangs, meet other members, and learn more about Mustangs. The Saturday night “Cruise-Ins” are a gathering of classic and modern Mustangs in addition to any other car that wishes to join in. We have a Disc Jockey playing a wide variety of music. There is a 50/50 drawing and several prize give always during the evening. It is a great social gathering where we visit with old friends and make new ones, give and receive information about Mustangs, and solicit help if we are going to undertake a big project or one where we just need a little skill and knowledge assistance. The “Cruise-Ins” are fun for all!

Other regular events include our Annual Mustang & Ford Roundup at Waterford Lakes Town Center in February, the Annual Wings & Pony Show at Kerr’s Wing House & Chili’s’ in Winter Park in the fall, a spring and fall picnic, an Annual Pancake Run, a Winery Run, Road Rallies, Race Nights, and a Holiday party in December. We regularly participate in other area shows and events, Mustangs & Mustangs, and the Annual Ford & Mustang Roundup at Silver Springs.

The MFMC believes in making our community a better place. Through our work and donations, we are able to help those around us in need. Each year we contribute to the Simon Youth Foundation and other charities that help children, and families in need. Through some of our events we are able to raise money and goods for these charities as well.

Our bi-monthly email newsletter, The Horse’s Mouth, keeps those who do not or cannot regularly attend club functions current on what is going on, provides interesting information to all members, car related articles, advertise upcoming events, and reports on the results of just passed events. Our e-Pony Express news emails are sent out a couple of times each month to provide members with the most up-to-date information available and to notify members of special opportunities available. In addition, we offer members a message board that allows members to post information about various topics and events, exchange ideas, plan meet-ups and pony trails, list items for sale or needed, and other general car related topics and know that only members are viewing the information. All the MFMC publications and systems work together to ensure members have the opportunity to make the most of their membership.

We encourage, but do not require, all members to join the MCA, check their website for all the details.

MFMC annual dues are currently $20.00 per calendar year; however we do offer new members joining after July 1 of each year to pay $30 for the current and the following calendar years. Each new membership is given a club t-shirt, certificate of membership, and a window sticker for each of their cars up to 5. Membership is open to all Mustang enthusiasts or owners regardless of year, or model. All memberships are family memberships including the member, spouse, and dependent children 18 years of age and younger. See our membership application for more information. Membership applications can be mailed in or brought to a general meeting or one of our cruise-ins.
